3 days ago I decided NOT to let the Evening Primrose grow everywhere it wants next year....Very tall, 6', and kinda overpowering the other plants.  Then 2 days ago, I realized it was the Evening Primrose that brought the hummingbirds ! This is the first year I have seen them on a regular basis...many, many times a day...feeding on the Evening Primrose!

Another good point, as the permaculturalists Bill Williams and Wayne Weisman pointed out...the Evening Primrose will attract the Japaneese beetle, thus distracting them away from eating other plants. This was evident in the Zandala Garden.
