Ever wonder what it would be like to thatch a building? 

Attend the Intro to Thatching workshop on Saturday morning from 10 - 12 am, then continue to get instruction & hands-on experience in applying reed to the roof of the Oxford Kids Cottage! 

Thatching: You have the opportunity to

• prepare bundles for the roof
• attach the reed bundles to the roof
• work as a team, trading off interior & exterior roles
• "dress" or tamp up the reed with a legget
• observe the ridge application
•  

Radiant Floor Installation: We will

• put down a natural insulative natural layer over the current subfloor
• lay down the pex tubes for the hot water, to be heated by the woodstove.
• install the earthen (cob) sub floor over the pipes

Optional potluck, evening video on thatching & overnight stay.
